Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined by Webster’s dictionary as passing off words or ideas of another person as ones own.  EVERYTHING you write must be yours.  You cannot paraphrase someone else’s ideas. You cannot borrow a few words or phrases unless you give the author credit.  Taking anything off the internet is plagiarism and academic dishonesty.  Although the internet makes it easy to find information to include in papers and projects it also makes it easy for me to determine that a student has plagiarized.  Any plagiarism in the future will result in an immediate zero for the entire assignment.

I_________________________ understand what plagiarism is and agree to not plagiarize.  If I plagiarize I understand that it will result in a zero for the assignment and a disciplinary referral.  I also understand that my parent/guardian must read this and sign below.  If my parent/guardian does not sign below my project will not be accepted.
