Editorial Assignment
You will write a letter to the editor of the newspaper expressing your views on a topic that has local appeal. The editorial is to be persuasive utilizing an opinion statement, logical appeals and emotional appeals. The editorial will use MLA standards of font and letter size. The editorial should be at least 150 words typed and in blocked letter format.
You are required to have a completed draft on Thursday to share with your group.
You are required to participate in your writing group by helping others to improve their editorials. You will use the rubric provided in your literature book on page 112.
You will also fill out an evaluation sheet for your group members.
The completed editorial is due on Monday September 11th. (Remember I do not take late work. If you are not here on Monday you can e-mail your assignment or leave it with me on Friday.)
