Classroom Rules

Class Room Rules

  1. Be on time.  This includes being in your seat with your journal and ready to journal when the bell rings.  If you are not in your seat and ready to journal when I set the timer you are tardy.  The third tardy will result in a 30 minute detention. Every tardy after will result in an hour detention.

 

  1. Stay in your seat during class.  There is no need to be wandering around the classroom.  If you are out of your seat without permission you will be given a 15 min. detention.  If you need to throw something away or go to the filing cabinet wait until independent work time or a transition in the days agenda.  Do not interrupt me to ask if you can throw something away…, etc.

 

  1. I determine the temperature in the room. 

 

  1. Do not ask me to go anywhere.  If you MUST go somewhere come to the classroom before class begins and I will sign your agenda.  Interrupting me to ask for a pass will only serve to annoy me.  Once the passes in your agenda are gone I will not give you permission to go anywhere.

 

  1. No food or drink in my classroom.  I have already had to throw away bottles and wrappers.  If you have food items keep them in your bag.  I will remind you once after that I will throw drinks and snacks in the trash.  

 

  1. If you do not journal during the entire journaling time you will loose 10 points for that day.

 

  1. I will not lone you a book, pencil or paper.  Check the chalk tray for homeless writing utensils.

 

  1. If I find it necessary to assign seating you must be in your assigned seat.  If you are not in your assigned seat your will be given a 15 minute detention.

 

  1. Do not talk while others are talking it is extremely rude and disrespectful.

 

  1.  Fridays are writing, sharing and reading days.  Please bring the book that you are reading for this class with you on Fridays.  If you have finished your book for the quarter bring something else to read that is not a textbook.  If you do not have reading material with you on Fridays you will receive a 30 minute detention.
